Obtaining the Membership of the South Asia Regional Training and Technical Assistance Centre (SARTTAC) of the International Monetary Fund

- The South Asia Regional Training and Technical Assistance Centre of the International Monetary Fund has been established in New Delhi of India in the year 2016. This Training Centre offers Technical Assistance to the policy makers and the government agencies in 6 neighbouring countries including Sri Lanka in a wide range of macro-economic and fiscal management, fiscal operations, financial sector regulations and supervision and macro-economic statistics. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Finance, to enter into relevant Agreements to obtain training opportunities provided by the Centre for Sri Lankan Officers, was approved by the Cabinet.
