Purchasing of Mobile Laboratory Equipment sets for schools

- It has been proposed by the Budget - 2016 to provide Mobile Laboratory Equipment sets for 3000 schools conducting classes up to G.C.E. (O/L) and which do not have laboratories with the objective of uplifting science education. In this respect, competitive bids have been called for, to select suitable suppliers. The proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, to award the contract for the supply of Mobile Laboratory Equipment sets in accordance with the recommendations of the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee, was approved by the Cabinet.
