Signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Sri Lanka and India for Co-operation on Traditional Systems of Medicine and the Homeopathy System

- India has achieved a high standard in the Ayurveda System of Medicine as well as in the Homeopathy System through the modern technology strategies. Theses medical systems are prevalent in Sri Lanka as well. By providing facilities for such alternative medical systems, people can be diverted for cheap, safe and side‑effects free treatment methods. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding to share the knowledge and technology pertaining to Ayurveda, Homeopathy and other fields of medicine and also to enhance the bilateral relationship between the Government of Sri Lanka and the Government of India, was approved by the Cabinet.
