Financial Assistance from the French Agency for Development for the implementation of Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency Improvement Investment Programme - Tranche 2

- The French Agency for Development has expressed its willingness to grant Euro 30 million, to meet a part of the total cost of a sum of US$ 250 million needed for the Green Power Development and Energy Efficiency improvement programme - Tranche 2 planned to be implemented under three projects namely Transmission Infrastructure Enhancement, Efficiency Improvement of medium Voltage Network and Demand side management improvement for energy efficiency. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister, in his capacity as the Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to enter into Agreements with the above agency to obtain the above loan amount was approved by the Cabinet.
