National Policy on Reconciliation and Co-existence

- The Government Policy on reconciliation and co-existence to be implemented as the 'National Policy on Reconciliation and Co-existence' has been formulated considering the views of all the relevant stakeholders and providing a guiding framework to ensure non-recurrence of a conflict of the nature of a protracted armed conflict which was endured for three decades causing untold suffering to all communities and peoples of Sri Lanka, with the objective of an envisioning a shared future that foster national unity and peaceful co-existence among all the peoples of the country. Accordingly, the joint proposal made by H.E. the President and the Minister of National Integration and Reconciliation Maithripala Sirisena and Hon. Mano Ganeshan, the Minister of National Co‑existence, Dialogue and Official Languages to implement the above policy drawn up as the National Policy, was approved by the Cabinet.
