Construction of Vocational Training Centers at Panadura and Pahalayagoda

- The Government, presently, is implementing a Skills Sector Development Programme aimed at building an efficient skills development educational system to cater to the local and foreign labour markets. Under this programme two Vocational Training Centres will be constructed one at a cost of Rs.370 million in the Panadura area and the other at Pahalayagoda at a cost of Rs.170 million. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Samarasinghe, the Minister of Skills Development and Vocational Training, to obtain the necessary consultancy services from the Central Engineering Consultancy Bureau (CECB) in this regard, was approved by the Cabinet.
