Expansion and Modernization of the activities pertaining to the Hadabima Authority of Sri Lanka

- The Agricultural Diversification and Settlement Authority established under the State Agricultural Cooperation Act, No.11 of 1972 has been named as the 'Central Authority for the Development of Green Lands' (Hadabima Authority) since the year 1980. Preparation of Agricultural Products and Marketing had been the main functions of the Authority and a special marketing unit had been established and conducted successfully since the year 2002. Accordingly, the proposal made by Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka, the Minister of Regional Development to extend the activities of the Hadabima Authority island-wide by implementing the recommendations made by the expert committee appointed for the study of the possibility of modernization of the activities pertaining to the Hadabima Authority of Sri Lanka, was approved by the Cabinet.
