Provision of relief for the farmer families affected due to the drought in the Maha Season 2016/2017

- The joint proposal by Hon. Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, the Minister of Disaster Management; and Hon. Duminda Dissanayake, the Minister of Agriculture, to grant a special financial relief of Rs.10,000/- per farmer family for the 2016/2017 Maha Season whose paddy crops were damaged due to the drought and to farmers who could not cultivate their lands due to the drought and who cultivated other crops and whose crops were damaged and to take necessary action, so as to enable granting of the above financial relief however prior to the Sinhala and Hindu New Year, was approved by the Cabinet.
