Revision of Scope of the Mannar Grid Sub-station Construction

- The contract for the construction of the Mannar Grid Sub-station has been awarded in the year 2014 under the the Clean Energy and Network Efficiency Improvement Project implemented with the loan aid provided by the Asian Development Bank. After commencing its construction it has been identified that the scope of the grid sub-station should be increased from 132 kV to 220 kV and as a result, fresh proposals had to be called for in regard to the revised scope. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, the Minister of Power and Renewable Energy, to get the present contractor engaged in the construction work to carry out the constructions pertaining to the revised scope, in accordance with the Agreement reached by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), after negotiation, was approved by the Cabinet.
