Amendment to the Assistance to and Protection of Victims of Crime and Witnesses Act, No.04 of 2015

- The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Justice to publish, the draft Bill, to amend the Assistance to and Protection of Victims of Crime and Witnesses Act, No.04 of 2015, by incorporating the necessary provisions to record any evidence or statement of any victim of crime or witness from any remote location outside Sri Lanka at the Sri Lankan diplomatic mission in the country from where such victim of crime or witness seeks to testify or make the statements through Contemporaneous Audio Visual Linkage, in the Government Gazette and subsequently present same in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
