Concession Agreement of the Port of Hambantota

- The proposed Concession Agreement to be entered into between the Government of Sri Lanka and the China Merchant Port Holdings Company Limited of China on the Port of Hambantota is for the development of port and the port infrastructure of phase I, phase II which have been completed and the proposed Phase III, especially the planning, financing, construction, operation and management and the future expansion. The Cabinet approval was granted to enter into this Concession Agreement cleared by the Attorney General and to appoint a Ministerial Sub-Committee chaired by Hon. (Dr.) Sarath Amunugama, the Minister of Special Assignments with the participation of other relevant Hon. Ministers to operationalise and monitor the said Agreement.
