Augmentation of Water Pipe Lines concurrent to the Orugodawatta Ambathale Road Development Project

- The main objective of this project to be implemented on financial facilities provided by the Uni Credit Bank AG, Austria and the People's Bank is to shift the existing water utility pipe network laid concurrent to the Orugodawatta - Ambathale road section, to the new road proposed to be constructed under the Orugodawatta - Ambathale Road Development Project. Although proposals have been called from 03 institutions to select a suitable Company to implement the project, on the recommendation of the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management, only Mascinen - Umwelttechink - Transport Anlagen Company (M-U-T) has responded. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Rauff Hakeem, the Minister of City Planning and Water Supply, to award the Contract of this project to the Mascinen - Umwelttechink - Transport Anlagen Company (M-U-T), for a total sum of Euro 46.21 million, on the recommendation of the Ministerial Committee appointed by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management to negotiate with the Company and expedite the procurement process, was approved by the Cabinet.
