Issuing commemorative tea packs to be distributed among foreign visitors at the Bandaranaike International Airport

- In order to reinforce the identity of Ceylon Tea among tourists and to enhance their impression of Sri Lankan hospitality, it is proposed to gift the passengers of selected Airlines departing to selected destinations, with a high quality pack of tea free of charge with the contribution of several leading tea brand-owners who market Sri Lanka Tea, In addition, a booklet containing the information on the unique attributes of Ceylon Tea and how to buy Ceylon Tea in their own countries, also will be provided. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Navin Dissanayake, the Minister of Plantation Industries to implement the project utilizing a Rs.100 million from the Tea Promotion and Marketing Fund of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, was approved by the Cabinet.
