Lease of a land for a Clinical Waste Management Project

- With the development of the Government and the private hospitals in Colombo and the suburbs the clinical waste generated in such hospitals have been increased significantly. It is, therefore, necessary to dispose of the waste in a proper method so that it may not create serious environmental and social issues. The Ministry of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine and the Central Environment Authority together with the Sisili Hanaro Encare (Pvt) Ltd. have planned to implement a clinical waste project to be implemented in the Mulleriyawa hospital. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development to lease out a land in extent of 2A - 1R - 23.99P situated at Muthurajawela, for the purpose, to the Sisili Hanaro Encare (Pvt) Ltd. for a period of 30 years was approved by the Cabinet.
