Establishment of a National Science Centre (NSC)

- A land in extent of 7 acres from the Mahenawatta area at Pitipana in Homagama has already been set apart for the Ministry of Science, Technology and Research for the establishment of a National Science Centre (NSC). The NSC is a new initiative for Sri Lanka and as such, it is vital to carry out its activities in line with international standards with the assistance of competent experts. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Susil Premajayantha, the Minister of Science, Technology and Research, to appoint a Cabinet Appointed Negotiation Committee to procure consultancy services for Project Planning & Architectural Designing, Construction and Setting-up and Supervision of the NSC and to obtain the Technical and Financial Assistance from appropriate agencies, was approved by the Cabinet.
