Memorandum of Understanding between the National Zoological Gardens of Sri Lanka and the National Zoological Gardens of Singapore
- The development plans of the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens, the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage affiliated to it and the Safari Park at Ridiyagama are being implemented and the construction work of the proposed project will continue until the end of 2018, building a sound collaboration with an advanced zoological gardens of international repute for the exchange of technical knowledge and the experiences needed has been identified as vital in regard to the development activities of the zoological gardens. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Gamini Jayawickrema Perera, the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding to work in close collaboration with the Zoological Gardens of Singapore in regard to the technical and scientific knowledge concerned, the exchange of information and the new trends on animal species, was approved by the Cabinet.
