Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency and the University of Notre Dame of the United States of America (USA)

- The University of Notre Dame of the United States of America, in collaboration with the National Aquatic Resources Research and Development Agency (NARA) over the past 5 years has developed an oceanographic research programme on the Indian Ocean, especially focussing on the Bay of Bengal. The above institutions are embarking on a Multi-year programme commencing from 2017 to carry out the relevant collaborative research activities. With a view to formalizing this collaboration, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Notre Dame of USA and the NARA of Sri Lanka during the visit of the Hon. Minister to the University of Notre Dame, was approved by the Cabinet.
