- The Budget Proposals of 2017 have made provision for the 12 proposed concessionary loan schemes in several fields inclusive of providing concessions to the farmers dealing with small scale subsistence agriculture and the companies engaged in commercial level agriculture and to fulfil the housing needs of the low income groups. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Finance, to implement these loan schemes through the State and Private Sector Banks in the following manner, to be covered under 8 schemes, taking into consideration the executional convenience, was approved by the Cabinet.
