Excise Notification No. 994 (Gazette Extraordinary No. 1998/7 of 2016-12-20)

- The proposal made by Hon. Ravi Karunanayake, the Minister of Finance to present in Parliament, for approval the Gazette Extraordinary No.1998/7 of 2016-12-20 wherein the Excise Notification No.994 was published, containing the order made by him under Section 32 read with Section 25 of the Excise Ordinance, to impose an annual license fee of Rs.100,000/- with effect from 2017‑01‑01, on four types of liquor licenses for foreign liquor shops, rest houses, hotels and restaurants and for bulk sales of arrack issued free of charge up to the year 2017 by the Department of Excise, in addition to the licenses issued to sell foreign liquor, and also impose an annual license fee of Rs.50,000/- on the sale of bottled toddy, was approved by the Cabinet.
