The Rehabilitation/Improvement of the Road section from Rambewa to Medawachchiya on the Kandy - Jaffna (A9) Road

- The Government of Sri Lanka has received a loan of US$98 Million from the Asian Development Bank towards the cost of the Northern Connectivity Project (Additional Financing) for the rehabilitation of national highways and provincial roads and replacement of selected bridges on provincial roads in the Northern and North Central Provinces. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to award the contract for the rehabilitation and improvement of the road section from Rambewa to Medawachchiya (140.76 km to 150.40 km) on the Kandy-Jaffna Road (A9), utilizing a part of this loan, to the RR Construction (Pvt) Ltd, the lowest substantially responsive bidder, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
