Improving the Infrastructure facilities of the Saraswathy Central College, Pussallawa

- The Saraswathy Central College in Pussallawa, which has a strength of around 1,000 students is a Tamil School more than 100 years old situated in the Gampola Educational Zone in the Central Province. This is the Centre School among the school in the area with several feeder schools which could be improved with necessary facilities to provide qualitative education to the children of the Estate Sector. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, for the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka and the Republic of India to have a Memorandum of Understanding, to develop the infrastructure facilities of the school under the sponsorship of the Indian Government, as a special step taken in the direction of implementing the National Policy in providing equal educational opportunities for the children of the nation, was approved by the Cabinet.
