Development of infrastructure of the Construction Equipment Operator Training Centre

- It is essential for skilled machine operators to operate the construction equipment productively, in order to obtain the maximum productivity in the construction projects. The Construction Equipment Operator Training Centre implemented under the Construction Industry Development Authority established at Galkulama in Anuradhapura, in the year 1982 is one of the prominent institutions which supply the necessary manpower. The proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to identify the infrastructure facilities necessary for the development of this Construction Equipment Operator Training Centre, on a comprehensive plan, for the sustainable development of the local construction industry and to fulfil the growing need of manpower in the local and foreign construction industry, was approved by the Cabinet.
