Establishment of the Teacher Advisors' Service

- The post of Teacher Advisor has been effective in the school system of the country since the year 1962 and they perform an admirable service to ensure the qualitative aspect of the school education. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, to establish a new service called the 'Sri Lanka Teacher Advisors' Service', with a view to formally harnessing the services of the Teacher Advisors and to take action to absorb the Teachers presently serving as Teacher Advisors into the new service, was approved by the Cabinet.
