Revision of the Special Allowance paid for the Principals of Schools

- The Principals of schools play an important role in the educational management of Sri Lanka and for that matter, the success of any school depends on the efficient and the formal management style adopted by the Principal. As such, the proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasa, the Minister of Education, having taken into consideration the complex and the responsible nature of functions performed by the Principals in 10,162 National and Provincial Schools scattered all over the Island, to enhance the Special Allowance now being paid to the Principals, with a view to encouraging them, was approved by the Cabinet.
