Mahaweli Left Bank Lower Basin Development Project

- The proposal made by Hon. Vijith Vijayamuni Zoysa, the Minister of Irrigation and Water Resources Management, for the implementation of the Mahaweli Left Bank Lower Basin Development Project at an estimated cost of Rs.6,250 Million, with the objective of providing irrigated water during both Yala and Maha seasons for 4,000 acres of land so as to include Kinniya and Kanthale Divisional Secretary's Divisions in the Trincomalee District and the Medirigiriya Divisional Secretary's Division in the Polonnaruwa District, was approved by the Cabinet.
