Implementation of the Sustainable Fisheries Development Project in the Northern Province

- It is a special and a priority need of the government to develop the infrastructure facilities in the Northern Province where the development activities were held up for a long time due to the conflict which prevailed over there. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to provide funds for the purpose and accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, to implement the 'Northern Province Sustainable Fisheries Development Project', was approved by the Cabinet.
