Prohibition of trawl fishing operation using mechanized boats within Sri Lankan waters

- The proposal made by Hon. Mahinda Amaraweera, the Minister of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Development, to present the Draft Bill for the amendment of the Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Act, No. 2 of 1996 in Parliament, making the necessary provisions for the prohibition of trawl fishing operation using engine mounted boats or mechanized boats within Sri Lankan waters, was approved by the Cabinet.
