Implementation of the projects for Municipal Solid Waste Management, at Karadiyana and Muthurajawela areas

- It has been proposed to implement two projects at Karadiyana and Muthurajawela areas to generate electricity from waste material with the use of the incineration technology as a remedial measure to solve the problem of waste management in the Districts of Colombo and Gampaha. It is expected to implement these projects on Public Private Partnership basis. Therefore, the proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development, to award the contract to the investors selected following the Government Procurement Procedure, was approved by the Cabinet.
