Establishment of the National Science Technology and Innovation Coordinating Authority (NASTICA)

- The proposal made by Hon. Susil Premajayantha, the Minister of Science, Technology and Research, to establish a 'National Science Technology and Innovation Coordinating Authority' by an Act of Parliament, to facilitate the proper coordination of the research and development activities of Research Institutions and Research Centres numbering about 80 administered by 21 line Ministries with a view to harnessing maximum results on investments made for Science, Technology and Innovation towards Socio Economic Development, was approved by the Cabinet.
