Regulation of Tourist Hotels

- The proposal made by Hon. John Amarathunga, the Minister of Tourism Development and Christian Religious Affairs, to place before Parliament for approval, the Regulations, Orders and Rules published in the Gazette Extraordinary No.1963/28 dated 2016-04-20 by the Minister, made in terms of the Tourism Act, No.38 of 2005, with regard to the minimum capacity and facilities required in tourist hotels for classification under 1 to 5 Star categories, the fees payable for registration, Code of conduct of tourist hotels, registration and licensing of tourist hotels and the provision of minimum accommodation facilities, was approved by the Cabinet.
