Construction of the Knuckles Information Centre - Forest Conservation Department

- The construction work of a fully pledged information centre, within the Knuckles Conservation Forest belonging to the World Heritage Site of the Central Highlands commenced in 2014 but the construction of the centre has been suspended for want of necessary funds. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Mahaweli Development and Environment, to re-commence the construction work of the information centre, utilizing the Rs.23 Million, from the 'Punarudaya Work Programme of 2016-2018', was approved by the Cabinet.
