‘Awakening Rajarata’ - Presidential Programme - Award of Three Contracts for Road Development under the ‘Let’s Awaken Polonnaruwa’ District Development Programme - 2016-2020

- The proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to award the contracts for the development of Habarana - Batticaloa Road (B529) in the Urban Area of Polonnaruwa with a 4 lane track up to a distance of 7.5 km, improvement of Dambulla - Bakamuna - Kalagahawela Road (B615) up to a distance of 13.6 km and widening and carpeting 5.06 km of the Maradankadawala - Habarana - Thirikkondiyamadu Road from Polonnaruwa to the New Town, as recommended by the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
