Realization of a National Sustainable Development Vision of Sri Lanka - 2030

- Realization of Sustainable Development always depends on achieving the multi sector targets. Therefore, to achieve such targets, follow up action and evaluation activities become extremely vital. Accordingly, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, to appoint a Cabinet Sub-Committee comprising of 05 Cabinet Ministers and a Provincial Chief Minister and an Expert Committee to assist in the functions of the Sub-Committee, for the formulation of the National Sustainable Development Vision-2030 inspired by the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals, identifying development priorities to be achieved by Sri Lanka, drawing up a time frame to achieve the identified goals, identifying the role assigned to the State, Private and Civil Society Organizations in the accomplishment of Sustainable Development Goals - 2030, and to review the progress in the realization of the identified goals and to update the sustainable development goals and the strategies after review, was approved by the Cabinet.
