Joint Cabinet Memorandum of the Ministerial Committee on the Development of Hambantota Port

- The joint proposal made by Hon. Malik Samarawickrama, the Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade and Hon.(Dr.) Sarath Amunugama, the Minister of Special Assignments, to develop the Hambantota Port in collaboration with the China Merchants Port Holding (CMPort) Company on a Public Private Partnership basis, on the approval given by the Hon. Attorney General in respect of the finalized Framework Agreement in accordance with the provisions of the Framework Agreement, based on the final decisions of the the Cabinet Committee on Economic Management (CCEM) pertaining to the restructuring of the Hamabantota Port and to confer authority on the relevant authorities to sign the Framework Agreement with the investing company, was approved by the Cabinet.
