Construction of Court Complex of Wattala

- The Cabinet approval has been granted to award the contract for the construction of Phase I of the Wattala Court Building Complex to the Sri Lanka State Engineering Corporation, at an estimated cost of Rs.156.18 Million. Presently, all Court functions of the Wattala Courts are conducted in a part of the Mahara Court Complex. In order to provide a better service to all persons access the services of the Wattala Courts it is imperative that the project is completed expeditiously. Accordingly, The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Justice, to award the contract to the Sri Lanka State Engineering Corporation to construct Phase II of the Court Complex at a cost of Rs.148.29 Million, incorporating certain requirements identified as pre-requites to be included in Phase II of the Court Complex, construction of Phase I, was approved by the Cabinet.
