Proposed Memorandum of Understanding for employment of Sri Lankans in Malaysia

- The Cabinet has granted approval in the year 2015 to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between Sri Lanka and Malaysia to establish a methodology facilitating the recruitment and employment of domestic workers and other workers for employment in Malaysia in such manner as to safeguard the rights of such migrant workers. The proposal made by Hon. (Mrs.) Thalata Atukorala, the Minister of Foreign Employment, to sign the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Human Resources of the Government of Malaysia and the Ministry of Foreign Employment of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, prepared incorporating the subsequent amendments as well, was approved by the Cabinet.
