A land for the construction of the District Sports Complex at Dadalle

- With the conversion of the public playground in Galle into an International Cricket Stadium, a land in extent of 17 Acres at Dadalla has been identified to be developed as a public playground. Land filling and the preliminary construction activities of the playground have been completed and the construction of a 400 meter track and a swimming pool is in progress. Therefore, the joint proposal made by Hon. Patali Champika Ranawaka, the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development and Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara, the Minister of Sports, to obtain a sum of Rs.400 Million from the General Treasury to complete the land acquisition process to enable the expeditious completion of the project, was approved by the Cabinet.
