Minimizing of the delays experienced in Court Procedures by Providing for Pre?Trial Procedure

- The Public has to face great difficulties due to the delays caused in Court Procedure. Although several measures have been adopted from time to time to overcome this situation, a large number of Cases are still piled up in Courts. The Cabinet has already given approval to introduce Pre‑Trial Procedure in order to solve this problem. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Wijayadasa Rajapaksa, the Minister of Justice to publish the Civil Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman and given clearance by the Attorney General, in the Government Gazette and present it in Parliament, was approved by the Cabinet.
