National Quality Policy

- The initial quality policy for improving the quality of goods and services in Sri Lanka was implemented in the year 1998. Considering the ongoing extensive development activities in Sri Lanka, at present and the objectives of the government, the proposal made by Hon. Susil Premajayantha, the Minister of Science, Technology and Research for the implementation of the "National Quality Policy" formulated, focusing on the health, education, highways, transport and trade & commerce sectors and taking into consideration the views expressed by the representatives of those sectors and adopting a broad/strong participatory approach, was approved by the Cabinet.
