Implementation of the Third Phase of the Army Hospital Project (Narahenpita)

- The construction of the 1st and the 2nd phases of the project for relocation of the Army Hospital at Narahenpita which was located in the Army Headquarters, has been completed. In order to upgrade it as a state‑of‑the art Hospital, plans have been made to continue with the 3rd phase of the Hospital for the construction of three new building complexes, with specialized medical facilities and accommodation facilities for Medical Officers and as well as other Officers, and storage and maintenance facilities. As such, the proposal made by H.E. the President, Maithripala Sirisena in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to implement the 3rd phase of the Army Hospital Project at an estimated cost of Rs.7,088.32 Million and to commence its construction work in the year 2017, was approved by the Cabinet.
