Construction of a new Seven Storeyed Building at the Ananda College, Colombo

- To ensure the safety of the lives of children, the approval of the Cabinet has been granted for the construction of a new Seven Storeyed Building at the Ananda College, Colombo, after removing the five storeyed 'Moor' building which was found to be sinking. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam, the Minister of Education, to award the relevant contract as recommended by the Procurement Appeals Board (PAB) and the Standing Cabinet Appointed Procurement Committee (SCAPC), was approved by the Cabinet.
