Renovation of the Cardiology Unit of the National Hospital, Sri Lanka
- The Cardiology Unit of the National Hospital of Sri Lanka provides an immense service to cure the heart patients with various types of cardiac complications, coming from all over the island. Since the building complex where the Cardiology Unit of the National Hospital is housed is in a dilapidated condition, the Cabinet has already granted approval to renovate the building. After the commencement of the renovation activities, considering the new proposals made by the specialists attached to the Cardiac Unit, the proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, for installing of a Central Air condition Network for the building complex to enable successful surgeries to be performed on patients, carry out other repairs which are absolutely necessary and also to modernize the Cardiac Unit, at a revised estimated cost of Rs.186.32 Million, was approved by the Cabinet.
