Development of Infrastructure Facilities at the State Universities

- The Government has accorded high priority to develop the available space and the infrastructure facilities of the State Universities and to provide the students engaged in studies in these Universities with a qualitative higher education. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Lakshman Kiriella, the Minister of Higher Education and Highways, to implement the project for the development of infrastructure facilities of the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka, the Universities of Wayamba & Ruhuna and also the Sri Palee Campus of the University of Colombo and the Trincomalee Campus of the Eastern University, at an estimated cost of Rs.2,670 Million, was approved by the Cabinet.
