Disposal of Segregated Waste in the Public Institutions under a formal Waste Management Programme

- The improper disposal of the waste generated by means of human activity to the environment has now become a major problem. Accordingly, as an initial remedial measure to overcome the present state of affairs, the proposal made by Hon. Faiszer Musthapha, the Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government, to set up a mechanism in the public institutions to formally hand over such waste to the relevant Local Government Institutions having segregated such waste as degradable and non-degradable and to obtain the cooperation of the Ministers, in this regard, was approved by the Cabinet.
