Construction of a two storeyed Building in the 'Ranawiru Sevana' premises at Ragama for manufacturing artificial orthopaedic equipment for Disabled War Heroes

- The Prosthetics and Orthotics Unit at the 'Ranawiru Sevana' Ragama, is engaged in constructing artificial orthopaedic equipment for the disabled war heroes. Presently, over 3,000 disabled war heroes are registered there, with the expectation of full filling their rehabilitative needs. The facilities currently available at the Prosthetics and Orthotics Unit are inadequate, As a solution to the above, the proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to construct a two-storeyed building with the essential basic facilities for this Unit, at an estimated cost of Rs.81.43 Million, was approved by the Cabinet.
