Construction of Buildings in Medirigiriya Ayurveda Hospital
- Around 90 patients receive treatment daily, from the Central Ayurveda Dispensary, Medirigiriya. It has been found that successful results could be obtained from long term continuous Ayurveda treatment for the Chronic Kidney Disease and other non communicable diseases prevalent in the area. The proposal made by Hon. (Dr.) Rajitha Senaratne, the Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, to construct the buildings necessary for the improvement of the Medirigiriya Ayurveda Central Dispensary to be converted into a Ayurveda Hospital at an estimated cost of Rs.37 million, to enable the people of the Divisional Secretaries Divisions of Medirigiriya, Hingurakgoda, Lankapura and Thamankaduwa, to have facilities for residential Ayurveda treatment, was approved by the Cabinet.
