Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Governments of the Member States of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) for the Coordination and Cooperation of Search and Rescue Services in the Indian Ocean Region

- The proposal made by H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena, in his capacity as the Minister of Defence, to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding between the Governments of the Member States of the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) to establish a framework for the Coordination and Cooperation of Search and Rescue Services in the Indian Ocean Region, and to promote consultation and cooperation among the Governments concerned to face the situations which the States of the Indian Ocean Region have to encounter, was approved by the Cabinet.
