Development (Special Provisions) Bill

- The Government has given priority to accelerate the economic development of Sri Lanka and it is the understanding that new legislation is needed towards speeding up the process of economic development. Accordingly, the proposal made by Hon. Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs, to publish the Development (Special Provisions) Bill prepared, to facilitate the formulation of a national policy, on all subjects connected with the rapid economic development of Sri Lanka and to make provisions for the economic development, establishment of development agencies, preparation of policies relating to rural modernization and regional development etc. in the Government Gazette and thereafter, present it in Parliament for approval, was approved by the Cabinet.
