Accelerated Programme for Middle Income Housing & Infrastructure Development

- It is expected to construct 500,000 housing units within a period of five (05) years, under the 'Accelerated Middle Income Housing & Infrastructure Development Programme', implemented with a view to providing housing facilities for the middle income employees in the public and private sectors, at an affordable price. Accordingly, as per the recommendations of the National Steering Committee established for this programme, the proposal made by Hon. Sajith Premadasa, the Minister of Housing and Construction, to implement the construction work of the Iskagarawatta, Kundasale Housing Scheme consisting of 332 housing units and Mount Clifford Estate, Homagama Housing Scheme consisting of 860 housing units, was approved by the Cabinet.
