Formulating a Mechanism to sell processed paddy (rice)

- With the objective of stable maintenance of rice prices within the country and the uninterrupted operation of the rice processing centres at Pannegamuwa and Hingurakgoda belonging to the Co-operative Wholesale Establishment (CWE), the proposal made by Hon. Rishad Bathiudeen, the Minister of Industry and Commerce, to formulate a mechanism for paddy to be given to the CWE by the Paddy Marketing Board, turned into rice by the said two rice processing centers and the private rice processing centers and then distributed to consumers through Lanka Sathosa and Cooperative and Wholesale dealers, was approved by the Cabinet.
